Standard Health Screening
Nurses provide on-site biometric screenings and counseling for adults 18 years of age and older:

Lipid profile and glucose are important indicators of cardiovascular health. Fasting is recommended for this comprehensive test which includes:

    • Total cholesterol (TC) a waxy-like substance made by the liver that may lead to heart disease in excess quantities.
    • Low density lipoprotein (LDL) referred to as "bad cholesterol" is actually a carrier of cholesterol. It carries to cholesterol to the blood vessels and may increase the risk of heart disease.
    • High density lipoprotein (HDL) referrred to as the "good cholesterol" is a carrier of cholesterol as well. It carries cholesterol out of the blood vessels.
    • Triglycerides are made from fat, sugar and alcohol. Excess lead to heart disease.
    • Glucose is blood sugar. If elevated, may indicate diabetes or prediabetes.

Other services available:

  • Lipid profile without glucose, total cholesterol and glucose, total cholesterol and HDL, total cholesterol, glucose and HDL. 
  • Other screenings such as antioxidant, H-pylori, prostate specific antigen (PSA), Tuberculin tests
  • Immunizations including Hepatitis A, influenza, tetanus, shingles.
  • Blood pressure screening is recommended for all adults age 18 and over. Elevated blood pressure identifies a person who may be at risk for heart disease. Treatment for high blood pressure is critical.
  • Body Mass Index (BMI) asseses an individual's  body fat based on height and weight. A higher than recommended BMI increase an individual's risk for diabetes, heart disease, stroke and cancer.

Health Risk Assessments (HRA)
Also known as the Personal Wellness Profile. This tool provides valuable information to employees and aggegate results to employers.  An employee completes a questionnaire that includes health, lifestyle factors, medical history, nutrition, physical activity, stress and biometrics. The HRA is scored and returned to the individual. All information is kept strictly confidential.
